Four Seasons

Four Seasons is a series of abstract paintings that explores the cyclical passage of time through colour, atmosphere, and spiritual resonance. Drawing on Itten’s colour theory, each work adopts the palette traditionally associated with a season—spring’s emergent luminosity, summer’s heightened warmth, autumn’s earthen depth, and winter’s restrained coolness—while allowing these conventions to dissolve into ambiguity. Across the series, the landscapes feel charged yet unsettled, engaging Mark Fisher’s weird and eerie through spaces that appear inhabited by unseen forces or emptied of familiar certainties. Together, the four paintings form a meditative cycle, where nature becomes a spiritual and psychological terrain shaped by transition, repetition, and quiet unease.
